Korn guitarist Brian 'Head' Welch recently spoke with Music Radar where he gave a brief update and what fans can expect to hear on their new album, which is expected to be released later this year.

"Being back in Korn is just incredible. being back in the band for the Paradigm Shift was awesome," said Welch. "It meant so much to me to be back in the band and I enjoyed making that album - it was a slightly different sound for Korn."

Welch continues by saying that their upcoming album feels like they are building up from Korn's true roots and staying true to their original sound. "But then nothing satisfies me more than this new record that we're doing right now, though. It feels like who we are, but if feels like on this record we're working on now, it feels like we've comeback to what Korn started out as."

As far as what fans might expect to hear on the new album, Welch replies, saying that, "There's a lot of aggression on this new album. We just had fun, we sat down together in a studio and jammed out for six to eight hours a day. We just wrote together in the studio. It feels like we're at a really great point in our career. It just feels like Korn."

Korn will be co-headlining with Rob Zombie on the "Return Of The Dreads" Tour in Boston on August 28th. Tickets available here.
