He responds day to win a sort liner you've legs and a little Sissy face in 1912. Jamie. Stepped up his game. And fired right back Hitler's and treating this photo that had circulated. I believe it was last year of Larson as a young little hot on the toilet. And just said. You see no explanation point at the very very funny picture if you haven't seen it. This is NASCAR live on the motor racing network the voice of NASCAR. This is. NASCAR alive it's been a long price Belfort stopped all the dire but today he finds everything but the other you win a. Obesity over 200 and after. Of 100000. Dollar. That are going to be very expert pat on the. At Phoenix now back to Mike Bagley at teller sounded Saturday right here in the motor racing network or Becker with the call of adjustable dire. Going back to gain. Ray Victory Lane the last time he was there. Was at Montreal in 2012. And Justin is what this right now on the hotline just a welcome back to NASCAR live congratulations on that win Saturday Phoenix. You know I never gets old hearing that. As always thanks for having me on your year you look at the one that I've been fortunate to have my career. You always hope they'll comic fashion right you know yourself gee it's all or Guerrero but you know and this is Richard gamble he'd ever going to ask congress. It's been five years and and that's been that's been challenging how long life counting on me and everyone involved but. Yeah everybody in our sport has done such a great job march. And to be at this this last year and intent to start this season properly we have. It's just incredible and I Kia. Very very proud of and everybody or breakfast or clutch greatly definitely. If we had our work cut out for Saturday and we were fortunate enough fuel. To be there when when the checkered white balance obviously it went but also to witness makes it teachers get cash. That was me I would definitely do. It's gonna say in a 100000 dollar payday plus a trip to the playoffs to boot we'll talk more about that in a moment did you set something adjusting right there. That you never know when the next one is gonna comment in your case it's been almost five years if she visited Victory Lane over the course of that five years. Do you begin to doubt yourself or doubt this situation or the circumstances that you find yourself in. Wanna think you're accurate you you have to darkness are active Al. What's coral situation you know huge hit you always wonder why things happen and we that they happen and why. Richard and the way that you need to we need last year we had to retrieve a bit. You know we were. Neck and neck and it came down to to video calls in the race amounted to determine who want and we immediately you know any. If it seems like that at some point. You know law of averages says hey you could end up with water and fortunately you eat the last two years or it just worked out well law of averages just. Is that artists and the artists and artisans and you know you. You for me my wife and my daughter. Are probably two of the biggest opponent to those of rye and the person I'm a lot but I also accused you know why are you that you market where it struck at each inch. In my life is very you know very supportive of and the fact that you know a year calendar years in you've got this and she'd always pushing along inch. And that means a lot from more than anything in the united. You are apparently aren't going to be part of Murray Higgins and pushed me along it. And Rick Brandt the CEO of actress her culture in man and his employees and customers. Have always been behind a 100% at your records to go to Victory Lane equally as much an ideal. And. So you know that. That drive and ambition has been really cool and it kind of a kind of a funny story about this past weekend. Rick technically it was was celebrating his 91 birthday on Sunday. Could record month on Saturday and said hey you know what what you what you your what he will be birthday. Strict are all. And encourage him I don't care. I don't care what you do it bringing home the checkered flag at all operative checkered flag. And they are watching it on on Saturday afternoon. And want to take the checkered flag and when he direct talks. The emotion he needed to overcome by emotion and how cool it worked out you know you you never know what the timing is gonna be content like that protect. To be able to win an anti lack to celebrate where it was pretty spectacular. So did you take in the checkered flag. We did. We actually blew up our salute Rick for Antigua. That he is at a Florida and we were able to go out there and enterprises data which were probably one of the cool things that we got the deal. While the president with the actual checkered flag prompt. From the burn outs from Victory Lane in their grandparents and crashed they're crushed their birthday party don't. On now and two under and I wrestled and they but it was pretty protected and have an opportunity. Well you did you did get on Saturday late leading 85. Of the 200 laps in a in a show of strength by junior motor sports where is JRM right now seems to be at a pretty good place Verizon. And a tea are are really feel good about where we're at at the company you know obviously initiated a lot of changes our team format he knew the car. You know we have an income earners this year and that's what I got against a big hit a credited to share relate. You mean they're huge supporters of you experts. The Hendrick engine shop knew what they deal with it with our engines and and in cars and chassis. You used to be able to come out of box currently in lockyer strong. You we'd we'd been growing up as a company. And to grow this year like we did I mean we literally went from two cars full time. Which was steady drivers to four carts full time than drivers. Not not an easy undertaking and that's a that's a big change. And everybody is that that is pretty. They've been a great job and and you know we had four cartons at the top 103 into the top five all the qualified in the the last roundup of all our. I mean that's just. That's why ask for really on the Internet that's just. You know what what if what if you eat at the sport come down to. It's just it's incredible repeat that. That candid about our backpacks and if you put that in each and every weekend. I you know unfortunately it will that you will but but. That credit goes to all of those guys that are brackets shop against the traveled to pick your read it. We have such a meeting of the Geiger now that the beyond Kodiak our capacity about it. As is the case in this sport celebrations are short lived and now a year old to the auto club speedway. Saturday for a 300 mile or there what does auto club speedway Gaby as far as challenges are concerned. Well obviously article is one of places that it's being attacked and it slid. You know we're gonna have to rely on what we learn Atlanta. Really we're gonna have to rely on what are keeping it burned Atlanta we could really make. You know farther into mass marketing gimmick it. At the rate there about. You know a lot of losing grip levels as to what we would see at a place like that. Tom you're as far as driving goes it's so much fun to figure California Speedway you know it's one of the places that. It's it's even awaited big past year ear on that ragged edge at all moments of the day. You know that that the scene there are. Incredibly. Challenging me you know and to pick crossover received he you know when you talk to Ricky you feel Q what you're doing you're gonna you gonna be up against. It seems they're like number one in their bold and accounts. And circled and start it. You know everything you can possibly are trying to get to me that Angela because they are that. That that target to navigate so broke in its argued about the car. You know we've been out there with the current rules package other we have our council relentless downpours are a lot of what we had to last year. It's going to be interesting but you know it never disappointed in the reconsiders its. Fantastic you like that the corporate there or even immunity to curry their readers each one of those places bitch. From wrote retreating inch and you know this is kind of the end of our West Coast. You join our West Coast fans there are on different love going out there and you know part of the spewing out there so. The fund on weak pressure. Well and has been a busy week when the race is headed out checkered flags going to California. Receipts carbon out some time to chat with his congratulations on that Phoenix win and go back to back this weekend as Southern California front. I'd be perfectly okay with that I'll talk to indicate no problem could picture. But I do appreciate it all right to have her daughter the import it there isn't keeping. That's just an all dire winner of the DC solar 200 this past weekend. At Phoenix raceway coming up next we go face to face with Kurt Busch and later we'll get an auto club speedway race rewind. We go face to face with Kurt Busch next this is NASCAR live on the motor racing network the voice of NASCAR. It is NASCAR live now back to Mike Bagley. Welcome back to NASCAR live over the weekend in Phoenix everio Kim Kuhn sat down with 2017 Daytona 500 champion Kurt Busch. For a NASCAR live face to face interview. Kurt Busch. Leads at Daytona 500 he's never won before at Daytona a former series champion. People think that's a day flooding the 59 edition of public great American race did all of the height. Turnout when he what you thought it. Now it has absolutely I don't even think it's really stops yet and we've raised two races since. My phone and down at 233. Texas and if I did hit a high of 600 and when he won. And yes it's it's a magnificent. Win with the proceeds in the history in the value of Daytona. And the way that term. All of it is glorified as a championship in reverse. I have the nice comparison of the championship that year end from years ago. But this time around able to enjoy that much more and to absorb it feel it and yes it's night and that we won the championship to start. It is an event planner really is an accomplishment that stands out. But it's looking at your resonate looking and its ups and downs you had your career. Have you had time to think about. What is left to accomplish if so what is that to. Others. Let's start number 600 coming up this fall at Darlington and that'll be fun retro weekend it. You know all the 600 starts and maybe that three or four big moments that weren't good. You know there's 500 in 96. Cool things. Taking your green flag having opportunities to win. I feel blessed to have this opportunity was great teams and Steelers couple years my rookie year was a disaster. This wasn't figuring it out. And then I got teamed up with Jimmy fanning. My second year on the circuit and they say rest is history and so it's all about the people and the people you surround yourself with them. The enjoyment from it all it's been great to win some big races it's been great to come. Close. On some big races. The last two years of my career in the the two most consistent. With top ten finishes and laps completed. And just the the foundation type of I'm season that you wanna have if you don't have the power to win races but to build delivering a consistent level so the last two years been fantastic on that front. Do you feel like that's a testament to the environment Stewart Haas brings to you or is that a testament to kind of the trials and tribulations you've been to and it didn't. Maturity and a driver. You've reached. I think it's a combination of everything it's it's understanding now how to get the best out of the car when you don't how's the winning car instead of trying to stretch it to try to win. Mean we went through last year from Daytona all the way to the Bristol night race finishing on the lead lap every race. And it. It was a feeling of yes this is what we're supposed to be doing. Let's try to win more and then it was funny I had the lead crystal late in the race and pushed too hard on restart. And flat out lost it on that little green that little grooves gripped. Spray that they put down spun off to him. Wadded up in that attack killed our lead lap finish stream but that's where I was and haven't wanted to push hard to win. Just overstepped the boundary of the car a little bit which is where I would be normally in this century conflict and stuff. There's nude chase. Points structures that are given to us all the time yet to adapt to those. And you know the last two years. Finished seventh at Phoenix and didn't dance finished fifth at Phoenix. Didn't advance we're right there right there knocking on the door every year and so we know we need to do this year and and apply that that way we can be part of the championship war and had a shot champion. He took the Harley. You've been a long time. Perhaps this had to have been here right. Our allies as each iPhone like just twelve years old Washington the front door and then hanging out to see all players and to meet Joseph Maddon the manager. It's it truly was a lifetime experience and name in his the red carpet with stressing out and practicing with team. Taking batting practice fielding practice. For the they started with their their big trainer guy. He was just as soon as the little pep rally speech in front of all the guys in. Because you know it just champions and champions three champions let's bring on a champion of the Daytona 500 and you know the guys were in on that the trophy was there in front of them and we're all jumped in at told the guys and accuse us of on this or older group shot with a cool trophy. And it was great to share that with the Chicago Cubs and talking with players like Chris Bryant Stan Rizzo. So breasts and then meeting some of the pictures as the pitchers that are on their own schedule. For spring training that I car yet and Lackey Kyle Hendrix. It was great to meet with those guys and you know they're they're trying to work their schedule out come out here for 600 race in Phoenix. That got to keep mentioned just again got to keep the uniform they gave you where is actually got a second gallon shadow boxer a special kind of like. Memory box or maybe you'll you'll where it's funny to watch you gain an awful. It's a it's a cool piece is definitely a framed up it's got a couple of dirt and grass skins on access line in the outfield that in. The Jersey. It is a pretty cool piece to frame up just like a driver's absolutely. I can't wait to see and chronic Eric you've also had some fun back in Vegas I saw where you hit at some concert she saw The Backstreet Boys Bruno Mars he certainly has been busy. I don't know though argue the kind of guy when you go to a concert. That dances and sings along the kindest thing and it takes everything in discount watches. There with nationally and yet we are dancing along at it if I'm gonna go to a Bruno Mars you're from and go to Backstreet Boys yes we're gonna jump right on in and and be part of the atmosphere mean. It's neat to have these chances to go to these cool places and and live up. The atmosphere around our our Ree cities you know with Phoenix Vegas Daytona. You know Atlanta we had super cross their last year wasn't there this time around. There's always something going on around our venue and it's neat to just jump into the atmosphere that. It's not just recent. There's life outside of your. You're from out west when we were back in Vegas last week game you actually went back to your high school. And names added you to their sports policy aimed. And again you have you know a lot of great things you've accomplished in your career but what was that like to go back to kind of you're stomping grounds and be honored with something like that. It was very special and to see the students and just to see some of the classmates that I went to school with that have become teachers. One of the visit to the kids that. Was basketball all star he's now school principal. Hopelessness and sort of it was really need on a twenty year reunion type trip. To go back again to have that the spirit day wrapped around being during the high school TrailBlazer. As was wearing your NASCAR gear. And to bring the trophy along that was an added element to where the kids got to take self peace with Harley Gerald trophy and I mean you I was impressed with the school spirit I was really taken back by it because didn't seem that strong when I was there. And you would hope that things develop into that or maybe I'm just older and I appreciated it more now. I'm what is really. A true walked to the puck to the past and see what that school did for me. Am hopeful that that school canoes same thing for the kids that are currently enrolled. Let's talk about your now wife actually really quickly before we let you go you got married in offseason. Ian when I lucky you with her it's not hear a different person but she seems to bring out the best in you. So for you what would you say. She brings the relationship in terms of balance or maybe how to she compliments him. It's amazing since the day we met the ability to talk sports. With her being an athlete in her background in polo. And the infrastructure for a tie you set up the teen worked through. On the mechanics of it all she sees that in the NASCAR side and she asks me really unique questions that I. Didn't think to ask her to think about. Because of her perspective on. I see your heart is so warm and she losses. To be involved and took to help Bowden whether it's after all fine accession she's got thinner made already. Or if I'm not a full fields and number water boy in between her truckers. It's really neat to share that experience and know that were there helping each other. Bill what we want to it to to achieve together so. Truly amazing I'm very blessed to have met her and it's been wonderful sense. That's the Tony seventeen Daytona 500 champion Kurt Busch along with dark Inco and as they talked over the weekend. In the valley of the sun still to come on NASCAR live look back at the very first race at auto club speedway and later Phoenix winner Ryan Newman will join us. Well there's an economic. The last day. Do you remember the first race at auto club speedway. We wool refresh her memory coming up next this is NASCAR live on the motor racing network the voice of NASCAR. This is NASCAR lie. Now back of my thankfully. Thank you so much for joining us on this week's edition of NASCAR live with auto club speedway celebrating their twentieth year this weekend. We decided to take you back to that very first race in 1997. It's this week's NASCAR live race three wide with Susie Armstrong. The first race at auto club speedway of Southern California. It was held on June 22. 1997. That is certainly one of the best markets in the United States NASCAR has run off and on and Southern California over the years. That's come to a racetrack like this for Roger Penske has put together 110 million dollar facility. Everything here is almost perfect with the track being brand new drivers and teams had no idea. What to expect from 250 laps on the two mile oval. Even though the Michigan International Speedway is similar in shape and size sixteens discovered during practice that they're notes from that track didn't correlate to. Joseph named Jack was on the pole for the first time in his career. Jodi they check in Ernie Herbert of the broad broad valid command of the field as they come down for the first green flag at this racetrack Greek flag is now displayed they come up through the gearbox and hurried Jeff Gordon made his move for the lead for the first time on laps seven Jeff Gordon takes a look at this time we've got to make the run coming up during a before he got a good job coming down out of the corner and Ernie Irvin decides to give it a little cramping helped they're gonna hang Wally Donna back out to dry in turn want the race was slowed for the first time 1130. When hunter Strickland hit the wall plugs are troubling turn for much Strickland spins out of traffic gets into the outside wall with the left side of the park comes back across the speedway. Nice job of this him by several drivers particularly late speed. And much privilege card comes to rest on the apron of the racetrack is turf war breaking out the caution flag. For the first time. For the rays went back to greeted became clear that the two dominant cars in the early going. We're Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin. Mark Martin and Jeff Gordon trading the lead here in California Barton blasted out to be court and off turn four they got her to court went back Saturday march calorie three. During the mid point of the race teams started using pit strategy to get their driver out front. The likes of Dale Jarrett Ricky craven and Ernie Irvin led the race. By taking fuel only or just two tires on pit stops the final caution of the race came out on lap 148. When Jerry native hit the wall on the restart big channel traffic off the corner is one car gets hit the wall in turn four. Believe that is Jerry made news this GD has watched it with the right side of the car got up against the outside wall when the race went back to green there were 99 laps left in the event. Plenty of time for Jeff Gordon and Mark Martin to work their way back to the front. The brightly colored Chevrolet champ court hears will be larger and larger and larger. Horton who with Mark Martin dominated the early stages of the race lost track position. When he took four tires while many others chose to get fuel only or take 21 acidic pits stops earlier in the race. In the closing laps the race came down just who can make it on fuel pool among the leaders can go to the finish on fuel from their last stops. Jeff Gordon came down pit road. And made his final stop at lap 190 flied to right side tires and fuel. Mark Martin made his final stop a couple of laps earlier at lap 192 for right side tires and fuel with ten laps to go leader Martin who was forced to pit for fuel and carried out vetting stop playing conservative you. Garden back on the right track. Good got more than. They're pretty common for the hardly. That left Gordon running on fumes for the final ten laps Mark Martin has run out of fuel with Jeff Gordon is go to golden disk did she come to the start finish sliding Jeff Gordon. We'll win the California 505 cap off court scoring his seventh win. In 1997. Catch the auto club 400 from auto club speedway this Sunday. Motor racing network we'll have coverage starting at 2:30 eastern. For this week's NASCAR live race green line I'm Susie Armstrong. Ryan Newman joins us next this is NASCAR live on the motor racing network the voice of NASCAR this isn't. NASCAR live in Iowa are visible overhead but doesn't have enough to write it differently for the final time. And you'll reply to partly different preparation for here. Larsson again ourself for our number four not close enough along right now we'll let them. Killed a great thing Ryan Newman pulled it off they'll win the camping world of 500 at Phoenix raceway now back to my bag. That's the way itself this Sunday at Phoenix raceway Ryan Newman going back to Gatorade Victory Lane winning the Camping World 500. And he joins us right now talk about it Ryan welcome back to NASCAR live congratulations on that win Sunday. Yeah thank astronauts. It talked. 127. Races worth 2013. That was quite. That was quite the drought that just snapped rate there what was the key to doing its Sunday. This one are so right position at the right time and carts and all our away but most or many think looks call out of her extract and we had a couple caught a popular with a seventy in the 78 but they'll. The will nudge and seventeen in the sport to that went quite dark benefit and that I haven't been several played in and especially good long run car so. They're not on the old tires was it anything better truck than a lot a lot of our. When Luke made the call a Levy out there was that his call was at a committee called what kind of input did you have in that. Might employ a commitment to tires on and he's those things they it out so orbital stay out. Stole yet we did that's an idea that actually applied no logo of that oil stayed out and you know got a good Gregory Sterger to dieters certain you know a little well all records and turn one what our favor and just worked out in now at probably the fastest Ritz Carlton we had a really to all of our. And it's really hard to win races tolerance especially you have mature at the end. The first I'm an equity share all season so it was really nice to be able to our picks up another entity cart victory line. You know thinking back to that restart and and making the call to stay out you obviously were on the front row is that. Is that the moment that every race car driver dreams of your going for a two lap shoot out. And basically the ball's in your hands are you one of those drivers that excels and that's the situation. Well I've been today and I've you know been fortunate to went to races that way and lots oh it is saying let's. But they imitated you just don't know the the green white checkered and it'll time rules and Winokur Irish to collapse or or sports reporters at the also a close it broke regret the client to be able to get to learn a victory or at that point so it some. You know it's just one of those deals where you lump you don't know how all the way you don't know who's gonna it was gonna stay out. It's just. It's NASCAR race and I mean it's the strategy that's the growl that's that's the real kind of like to watch and then on top of that that's a by side racing to a percentage up there. You obviously in position at the end to to be there. To take the win but I think that backs up even before loops call to leave you out it seemed like you had a consistent day. Continuously making progress towards the front was that indeed the case baucus though the entire 500 kilometers there. Well we had a etiquette car politics section of all finally started when exec in knowing that it kind of fight through much traffic. Well rural area the end of the first days civics or so obvious what the second stage rocket or two spots and this you know we're able to have a good long race long run car and we never had a supermodel on consumer as Graham. Tired or tire break combination problems but nevertheless they are long enough runs extra work order to order. We never made it to where we were able running at a gone green at the end of the race. In the end there was so it was some. You know. Good situation or circumstances. On local. Little problem in the air with via the points too bone Tyree who's in the lead us in the capital at all. Before we go to the phones you mentioned breaks you mention hot brakes and and melting beads on tires that was one of the big story lines from Sunday. Can you explain to the race fans what that means when the brakes heat up and you melt a bead on attire. Yeah so basically Vietnam the rotor of the recruiters right inside the you know he'll. And the two dominant choruses and beer are the ones that are bloated the obvious which it right front or rear. And retire yet so hot because the real it's so hot from the direction of the brake rotor. That it will literally no labor problems of a speed connection made up of wire metal remember around it and it looked it's so hot that there. Part physically this breakdown resident Mel and I explode tire which is what happened to want to Goran turn one. While unbelievable scarred the phones Craig in Roswell, New Mexico Greg you're a NASCAR live with Ryan Newman hello. But that's wondered what that supported me preview and you think there is a step in the right direction for the organization. They're here. Whereas it was it was amazing. Her fur so I think. We just whatsoever. And there are so little you know we are close to go to work into whether championship but we have been a victory rattle off all. 31 side so you know we are going to be down and this dismisses huge Salinas dot with a C it is going to be NATO. And I are tennis to continue two to run good and the bonus reason you're responsible structure and make it almost have a shot and chip chip. You know you bring up the point about. Going back to to Victory Lane that was obviously the first time you've been their that's also the first time the Richard Childress racing had been their matter of fact the fall of 2013 will Harvick. And Sunday was your first win with Richard Childress racing does that make it that much sweeter which were able to accomplish on Sunday. Won't and look Lambert's first order Churchill spoke Richard Scott a certain way and so. Column you know that that's meaningless it and Morse or so to get the moment you know where are practical work that way. Also give him in that felt that. When increasing call him out. And incompetence building move most known that he couldn't do it and that so. It sounds so simple what it's and makes this big difference once you get that first one brick yeah it. Just like it that makes it much easier solar. More coming up but Ryan Newman here on NASCAR live. Race fans do you have an old car motorcycle voter RB just taking up space. What that vehicle was good news by donating it to the NASCAR foundation. George donated vehicle will help kids and our racing community is live happier healthier lives simply call 84 fourth NASCAR nine. In your vehicle will be told and auction. You've got a tax deduction and the NASCAR foundation gets the proceeds against the donate please call eight full force NASCAR nine. This is power. This is freedom. This is tradition. Aren't paying this is being who you were meant to be. Here you imagine being. This is more than a race. They see is Talladega. Just party NASCAR returns may fifth through seventh. Calling some seven. It's we've got more with Ryan Newman coming up this is NASCAR live on the motor racing network the voice of NASCAR. This is NASCAR live. Now back to Mike Bagley. The NASCAR live Ryan Newman joins us and won the Camping World 500. At Phoenix raceway let's go back to the phones let's bring in waved from McKinney Tex is waived book to the program which a question for Ryan. With the win that Ryan Newman got last Sunday what's the momentum going to be like coming in through regret that these the poor Richard Childress straightened. Out. So I think that's got to keep them aren't as epic hero air force out and Sabrina point seven he noticed at probably less than ever states. When he did our leader DoubleTree purse you know. British and top stand and stop the top honor that the ultimate goal but I wanted to realign into. In the South Park so. We dealt some work to do we always they'll work to do speakers who wanted to meet you donor and right. That's keeper knows Gregory Stone and stayed focused on the holy duty early in their heated that are real and not your personal suppressed opportunities. Two collect points and and there are so senator this year. Ethan in Connecticut you're on with NASCAR live and with Ryan Newman much a question for Ryan Ethan. I was wondering how old Ryan. But it will be able to generate. There are a lot of effort a Lotto. Look at cedars just go our desire and drive our boats brought inside the rates garnered little thing in my mind. I don't blisters on my left you don't accessibility. It is certainly an audit that they're great sorrow we wanted to get it actually Toledo art. He was prerecorded degrees so. We get alerts and electric car it will bit cooler. Well not quite developments that sort of the Hillary I don't know yet there yet the sponsors and thinks some hurdles turns to. It's a Victory Lane you were able to do that. We are seeing some numbers from inside the race cars Ryan that the temperature was north of a 140 degrees and you mention right underneath your seat it was 300 plus. What can you do if any thing to to prepare for something like data what's hydration like over the course of a race that has so much excruciating heat inside the cockpit. You're in the bigger singers go when it falls on so much of which are under rated mature that you are. There every ounce erotic mode or fluid so that you're great you. So let you know you go through that all physical reaction oaks. Trying to cool it marked down naturally. Not a tutoring can you know I haven't actually that your brands are working picture that your this network here at. Column that's probably the biggest thing it's like any drug alarm bursting Spanish or edit your critics. So picture that that State's coal advocates aren't opera but it. Jack in New York Jack you're on with Ryan Newman welcome to the program. Came here championship picture you see you have a good hinterlands here. But I feel much more confidence this year that they had the last two years 2000 port Italy came out of Oxford strong and it on. And that guerrilla consistently never put ourselves in bicker like never let all collapse. But you know we seem to have jumped into the win column a lot sooner or faster and have Brett Morse beat. This year and the first four races then we have at last. Three years combined so berserk definitely feel like we're better I don't feel like we're in the best position because we're not leading the most laps. And accurate. But some you know we've got a lot of turn to built up today and that I appear ready currently seventh great start out well. And for those that may be new to the fold with the win on Sunday in the Camping World 500. Ryan is qualified for the playoffs now as long as he maintains a thirtieth place points position better which no reason to believe. That he won't I would say that's got to take your mind off that and to get that insurance policy at race for that that takes the load awful lot that a going forward. You know one of the toughest things trust before the whole point structure look. The guy that won early to take those risks they could stay out with a great human races differently in the guys that work. You know didn't wanna take the risk so to speak of sort of getting to Victory Lane and losing a bunch of points. Because they had once. So it's so it's different this year I think also the treasury and the instructor is amazing stated that banker gritty. And I think that's so you're you're seeing more side by outside arteries thing. You have at this while lectures so could OC NASCAR for what they've done instruction they were four. During in Gilbert Arizona during welcome to the show. Well I didn't move forward you Clinton and we didn't. I look forward to it used to be and we look at park but one of the worst racetracks we went to. And now to me it's one of the best racetracks to it there armed super super wired. Tires awful on its system you know really really racing. The biggest round of the racetrack and bond and it dark strips that they have for dealer throughout owners and that makes it challenge. There's got to cross summoned. The coin so to speak. And that's a challenge for everyone so worker but just has a better opportunity. Lean and I'll I'll look forward that are so what might Wear strikes as far as the tracks like. You know fifty years ago is now one of my favorite tracks now. You know you mentioned those strips and that's something that will be talking about. A lot during our coverage of the auto club 400 what is that the sensation you feel inside the race car when you cross those strips. Cements like in a bad guys that so you know it knocks and no it up a water puddle under water boarding and wrote it kind of takes the wheel and and you know cuts which you're out of a line that you wannabe and and the matter what you do it in the terrier group that line. Once you hit it and I gonna have to go slow and so on the next section of pavement to architecture. It's not in the top group. Appreciate you taking time to join us we will odd turn you loose congratulations. On winning Phoenix at. All the best and tried to log on go back to back here this weekend of the auto club 400. What is Brees Brady well if you guessed the incredible stuff you know our program performance. Carbon fiber to. Technology and he's like designer reduces Wear and increases stopping. Starting faster. When we run. New during last GT brake pads proven tougher tracks to the streets in only AutoZone. If you have a question or comment about NASCAR motor racing network as a director one for you it's the fan forum hotline. Mike Tyson knocked out Tony Tubbs and the second round for the heavyweight boxing title and at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Baylor and I was crossing the finish line first at the motor craft 500. It was his first win in the iconic black and silver number we. Car after a slow start this year third but he's still got championship potential for 1988 before being away for a walk. We have a whole awful lot of people Rockefeller. The fans have been saying let's have a Baylor heart he's about to win his first race in 1988 if he wins the motor craft 500 ahead of Rusty Wallace black couple second. Yeah jump forward five years to 1993. Eric Clapton unplugged is the number one album. In the news many Americans on the East Coast were still sticking out of the blizzard of 93. And again NASCAR was at Atlanta Motor Speedway for the motor craft 500 this time it was Morgan Shepherd pushing the fuel mileage to take the checkered flag. Be his final cup win. And Morgan Shepherd would have a lot that goes three quarters of elaborate on your victory just about most home from here he's at the turn over three. Currently the red phone lines are all the way to the checkered flag Morgan Shepherd of up to collectively agree here at Atlanta Motor Speedway here he comes out of turnover for the fuel gamble paid off for Morgan Shepherd it was a billboard checkered flag at Morgan Shepherd will. A win here this afternoon. And we end this week in 2004. Mic back as the number one song with Sunday. NBC television kicked off our friends spin off called Joey. It lasted for only two seasons. And at Darlington Jimmie Johnson held off Bobby nobody in the dodge dealers 400. Greta white a funny look and mind. More club Bonnie without a car like looking for a chance to make a blue and really be able to do it coming down the line though it will not. If Jimmie Johnson scored his first win at the Darlington raceway holding off our hard charging probably the Bonnie. Which I've heard that this week to Danica Patrick and MRN's very own Dave Moody's. Those are just some of the events of this week in NASCAR history before we wrap of this week's show study get a quick radio this weekend's auto club four under with Suzy are. From thank you like the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams conclude the western swing this weekend this they had the Southern California for the auto club 400. At auto club speedway but two miles trial rules boarding an aging racing surface that continues to inspire side by side competition. And bonds died last lap passes. For 2011. Other club winner Kevin Harvick the season service and low downforce package bode well for the Stewart Haas racing Ford team. Been one of our best races over the years I think every driver in the garage is looking forward to racing this particular package today California because it's going to be. There's been a lot of chatter about it you can race on the topic of race on the bottom. I think it's you know. I think it's going to be pretty pretty exciting so. I know all the drivers seem to be really excited about it I know I'm excited about it and really looking forward to what happens because the cars are going to be. Out of control. Seeking back to back top tens at Fontana AJ all the finger is a card carrying member of the auto club speedway fan club. Every calls a dramatic change in the track's racing nature just a few years ago it's crazy it really just flipped in one year it seemed like you know I everybody would say. It was one of the most boring races out there nobody would show up then and all the sudden bout three years four years ago I think in my start with that the Denny Hamlin Joseph really gone out and establish. There's some great racing going on the crowds big there it's always one to go there in a place that I really enjoy how we got some good results there and you know this aero package I think it can be a lot like it Lanny you're gonna use that tired of real quick and sliding around alive driving for his first auto club speedway top ten. Let me capsule concurs that the Southern California facility. Has truly come a day. I think drivers the end and industry. People and and and race stands perceptions about the auto club speedway as. As mom changed a lot. Over the last few years and they changed for the better it's a it's a really good race. It's. Maybe it shows thank you can have such a huge wide racetrack again and forty cars on and victories four by six live without. Any real issues you know it and it's amazing how the cards strapped down a straightaway and then just conclude spread out in the quarter. And they look like they're hundreds of feet away from each other men and ending kind of come back together on a straight away.
