Yeah they Hill Man Morning Show on demand. Send more I'm always online and on your schedule at WAS. Dot com. Matt what is our guests and Matt was. Was very upset yesterday at the game. But what happened and I do you believe that this now continues when it comes to this kind of a number in the NFL I mean. Until the president commented on Friday a it was you know three or four guys here and there. Yesterday it was a 150 guys did do you believe that that continues not just at Gillette. With the rest of the NFL this upcoming week. Yes can be noticing the C I mean I think that. I think that one thing this coming out of this that I guess you do consider. This positive with the fact that. People are having conversations and we have a form conversation. In a suite while the game was taking place and not one person was thinking about the game literally that we were all talking about. You know this country what's going on you know the issues that are that that we're all facing and and and and that's that's a positive thing and look I don't have a problem well what our president stands up and says that we have a duty and obligation. To stand up. During our National Anthem he's not talking about. You know issues of race. Or sexism. Or fascism all these cool little touch words that. You know these people throw around today because you know it it it garnered a lot of attention. He was literally talking about standing up. For this country. And and if if if if people dispute that in the some other conversation they're wrong. And again it's as simple as the is that these guys actions they're wrong partaking in the you can't convince me otherwise not pay what they were 70000 other people Mets stadium that felt the way aidid who were standing on their feet. Boeing a team for the first time I've never I've never felt like that met stadium before. I think that you know that the Kraft family. And the organization that team they have they have a lot to do. So. Put the confidence back in the people that fill that stadium that this is their team and that they're doing the right thing. Well what would you. It would what would you say that mr. Kraft about what he should go. What I think I think the message is very simple let's not get caught up. And everything that certain people with certain agenda or push on us we have an amazing country. We have a country filled with people that sacrifice themselves their time their resources. And they work hard each and every day you know to do. To do what we do what it would have been our country's absolute phenomenal. And standing for the flag. Is the right thing to do in this story period. And not be afraid that you're gonna upset somebody who has some other agenda to push. Or as as another concern. Yet doesn't wanna take the time. So really do something meaning for all they wanna do is there's some you know ridiculous action of taking in the again. If I can think of five. I can think of five other ways to get your point across and use this awesome platform that you have the National Football League. So really create positive change I encourage any of those kids those young men who took in the to do the same thing put a little bit more effort into it come up with a better game plan do something real something that doesn't. You know disrespect the men and women who serve this country and all those that came before. When you think Tom Brady you know poverty I felt was somewhat uncomfortable when asked about this. In the post game press conference. I'm I'm curious because you play with a for so long what you think he thinks but I let's listen to what Tom Brady said. A lot of love from my teammates and we go after a lot together there's a lot of plus volunteers I don't think it's easy to play this sport is like guys sacrifice a lot of the year a lot of respect for the guys who play. Now your teammates but guys you play against you without them notes it's not a great game it's it's like this that I believe in you know all of us come together and and I speak for myself and you know I believe what I believe and you guys know me I'm very positive person so. I try to just live by example and you know say positive things about people and I try to control my emotions and no matter what anyone says he normally have a positive outlook. And certainly with my teammates. You know we all go through ups and downs of their struggles in his life and we're all trying to navigate it as best we can so I believe that you know love is the greatest thing we have overcome a lot of things. You talk about that patriot way is that something that Tom Brady do you think Tom Brady feels the same way you do this morning Matt Light. Yet look I don't know exactly what how Tommy field and I haven't talked about this specific. You know. Saying but. I know that. He now has the answer. Reporters' questions. Because the reactions of some of his teammates but I know that. You know he he wants to talk about football and football only in the united that you really would rather not say anything about anything and you just want to show up and do his job. But again. Because certain individuals want to do things their own way. He now have to answer that question they keep in mind. For eleven years. I had things that happened during my time as a New England Patriots while in that locker room that I would've loved. To have defended or said something about. Right. 211 years there are a lot of things that were set out there that it would have been nice to maybe set the record straight or. Have got something off my chest or defended a teammate or coach or somebody else. Because of what is in the best interest of the team. Ellis playing on a team award than Matt Light the individual again. That is the very essence of the patriot way. That wasn't displayed yesterday and it's a shame. Where do you think The Who and where do you think the NFL goes from here because I think they have an issue they certainly had a ratings issue last year. Which a lot of people believe it was related to the cap Burnett. I think the majority of the there fan base. Is bothered by this what do you think the NFL does what can they do about this. Well you know that's going to be interesting right I haven't. I haven't had problems saying this before but. I don't think the rugged don't leader in the true sense of I think he works hard to think you've done a lot of things to. You know. Bring in money in and doing his job from that perspective but he's not a leader. He's gonna sit around wait and see what. You know he thinks the the court of public opinion would have them do it but he's done was so many other issues whether it's. You know players' safety which is a joke and how the idea what that. The weather's player discipline and you know acting as though they hadn't seen that tape or you know whatever it may be right. There's so many there's so many things that I wish that they would be right that they continually get wrong so. I think of something like this that instead of saying yes we believe in the flag yes we believe in what it stands for yes we think that. During the National Anthem. They guys should be standing in the way that they've stood since the beginning of time when it comes to the National Football League. And and and us recognizing the importance. Of the National Anthem why in the world would you play the National Anthem before every single NFL game. If it wasn't to pay honor and respect. All the people with a sacrifice to right so instead of taking that. They jump on the bandwagon of all the liberals and all these other buffoon who wanna use their own personal. You know issues. And force them upon everybody else. You know it's it's going to be interesting to see what they do it in the gonna continue to screwed up. And I think because of that. There are people like like I spoke to yesterday. Who have done very well for themselves and have paid. Major dollars to be a part of the patriots organization via sponsorship. Who will not be attending the game next week. And who won't. But who who actually demand to have their sponsorship removed and are excited removed from the stadium. And I think at that point then they're gonna have to sit down and have one of a little while and decide do they wanna make money or not. I don't know that it'll truly be enough to sway him because they've got a fair amount of dollars deployed on a regular basis but the American people do have a voice. And without protesting were just standing up for what's right. I'll tell you what I love your passion. It's you make some very interesting points today as you can imagine there are techsters who were texting and then. And they're saying you can't understand this experience busier a two white guy in his. Rich red rich guy and he's out of the cop here he's here he's just a couple of events are no match. Like I know Matt Light puts his time his personal. Time away from his stick he he steps away from his family for weeks at a time to help. Our children and people. Better their lives. In multiple different ways so so you that but that is my biggest cop out. Arab firm when people says that at first and it via. That's not true media guide America's a great country yes we ate it like any other country on the planet we have issues I don't think. Then a country has progressed more. Then the United States than any other country on the planets. With people coming together as Americans trying to change trying to find tolerance trying to understand. I did add a different. Community and and and and and making changes just like this at the beginning to show. You don't people don't terrible people's struggles and that people like Matt Light Meehan and and me and people need guys in the NFL don't. Don't care and they don't understand as a rich. You know JJ watt Brees twice a million dollars for people in Houston community and all this great country. With the with pro though the money to be able it to give. Step up and Gibbs we'll have to come and we don't want to change we don't walk up to us during the whopper changing go. I was on food stamps I don't have any money right now but but here's a hundred dollars. All the listen I want to help you know those aren't at the food so. There wasn't a single there was an a single and I mean I think it was it made with the patriots did. I'm more glaring but there wasn't a single Houston Texan who who didn't stands. Yesterday for that and I think that he said it right it's not what you do. On the fielder in the locker room this week when your when union walked out of that I've worked when he walked out of that locker room you're not a Petrie to anymore you're here. Whatever whoever your name is and what you choose to do to make a difference. You know whatever. Whatever unique. Decided to kneel for which I think is ludicrous said. Yeah that those kind of statements from people make that that kind of ready. You know stand that that I can't possibly know or people like me couldn't possibly understand. You know it's just it's it truly is ignorance. And when your ignorant and you don't have knowledge. It's typically because you're not willing to put in the work required. To truly understand something because. You know like a hell of a kid that I work with until you've suffered. You truly don't take the time. To dig a little deeper and understand they know what I mean by that is. You know what what we separate Tuesday I spent thirty days and hospital. It caused me to stop and think okay what what's real in my life or what I took time. You know when I was younger to go visit some kids in hospital it was one of the first times I realize man I am so lucky. Person to be walking. And and look look what these people deal with each and every day whether themselves and their kids or. You know loved ones. I mean we are so fortunate to live in the country where we do have freedoms. And listen I've never seen color ever in my entire life I see actions. And they speak. Volumes about people and what they truly represent. And for all these people that just wanna keep talking or do very easy thing. I would encourage them to take the next step. And dedicate themselves. To whatever it is that they truly believe it and they wanna see changes that they do that. They will have a positive impact. That's why this country is what is great is that it is yet had. Men and women who weren't afraid to stand up for what's right and they bait and by their actions. They led. An entire revolution. It's that simple we can't forget those principles that's important. All right mr. life. Should we ask before you go back and win that map its people standing up just like these guys taking Indiana that's a bad example of that but. You know this is what they're doing you know and I would remind people that. You shouldn't if you feel the right to say something or to do something they're protest the government. Don't waste it because that's also another reason why people sacrifice. You know our military members that's why they put their asses on the line so we could do stuff like protest. And maybe these guys. Are taking me. Because they think the issue and this is will all due respect because I know being a professional athlete especially football's a hard job with all due respect. The issue is bigger than the game. And I say that I don't think my Matta agrees that. Yet what listen of course is bigger than a game I mean you know look these guys are trying to raise awareness all of really what is you know a problem within this country right now our perceived problem. Because I think some people think that wallets of problems statistically. It's it's not the way that they want a present right so. So either way no matter how you see it and I am respectful of anybody's view points when it comes to. Issues that they personally face in the their friends and family are based. But again. It's it's it truly in and out there and in my opinion. It's truly black and white it's very simple what's right and wrong it is not right to take in need during our National Anthem. Again there are 8000. Different ways that you could you know get your voice or cross or or get your voice out there or make your point. Right I mean think about why take the easiest road possible what does taking it need do other than divides your team. Throw throw insult and injury to so many people would serve this country. Why would you ever do it again it's the easy way the only thing that you can say. Is a certainty when it comes the taking and either you're gonna alienate yourself your organization and your true. Voice is gonna be heard in a negative way for a majority of people against 70000. People stood. On their feet. And booed the people that were all I need it not the message you wanna send if you wanna do something real put your time and your actions and threw it. Matt great to talk the able Taki more on this I'm sure in the future and we'll see some money. Automatic there's an app like former New England patriot Matt Light.
