We lost Indians 37. Podcasts are all is. You schedule WAS. Bosnia let's do a little. Doesn't hold up via. Throw back Thursday show everyone they say put the past behind you say don't look back. Well they probably don't have a bunch of cool. And their past. I react to go back your pals Mattie had nick do and there are about that takes you want to walk down memory lane does anyone have remarked to him you might wanna bring the way it's worked so mates. It's throwback Thursday on Mattie had mixed. And turn it. The degas. So when the snow flew as you know my awesome hotel getaway was wrong. And by wife and child. Yeah and it's because they decide to show up by the way Hillman invited me to an awesome dinner that night. Couldn't go because weapons outcomes did though tell me. But I decided to make the best of him. So after an attempted routed board games and as I like to say VO RTD games. You know army people aren't giving you this. I said you know what screw this smacks. You are gonna watch. A placard. Later. You are gonna watched faces of death. Love that movie bit you do you sick though. I wanted to watch across that I knew he had never seen are your parents having sex are now that the video of that. God. The movie nick you may remember. Classic. As a matter of fact. Why eighth. YPD here whilst I was in New York City that's weekend showed it to. Leon almost five euros for the first time. It's. It was grandmother got an ET. Night and he loved reading every night Corvette out tonight with the defense ball game out of field he looks. Loves it didn't get all the emotional nuance of course resistance it's really fun that there's like this. You know moving puppet. Greg that talks this little boy and there's spaceships and cool stunts right up and they fly and a bicycle and where's my life was like I have a I spent the last thirty minutes shielding my. River of tears from our. Oldest son. So mad Max and I sat Watson with Yoko came out 1982. Yellow mad Max is twelfth. I was exactly eleven when it came out I saw. I was eight haven't seen it since really I mean I've seen clips of a man sat down and watch it so I decided to what's ET the extraterrestrial with my son mad Max fascinated to see what a kid from this generation. My age. But it wasn't it came out how he orders. On tour and toss them. And I would tell you read trepidation is that he would not like it wicket to some always fearful that like man something I'm gonna love I'm right now I'm Joan and like. Cartoons and Star Wars and I love all of them but that one day and may sit him down. Not only have all these expectations. But then have the pride you've taken loving something so much. Just destroyed by you keep going dad do you like this and you wanna share with the viewers share the moment experience with. So we sat and watched it and I'm going to review this nick weather holds up or not. Through max's allies the kids' eyes. Because the movie itself is doing kids' eyes lit so despite my opinions on whether holds up or not because I think negatively emotionally it holds up big time. However. Max was taken out of the film. I would say half dozen times. By super. On timeless things super time thinks so things of its Ara that is elements data elements bad special effects lap of Lee that special effects actually a special effects and the time we're borderline rev Wright and I remember you can. Reminds of like a moment other flight to the moon is going to be moved. Folks Rudy. Clip art I hope to god though they never. Ever remake is moving. They well. To date well don't they well don't I mean I know they remake and ruin everything. They tribute they paid tribute to a stranger things at the holding and seen it but so are watching this. And I'm watching Max be into it mostly to then be taken react to start laughing a couple times. You know like when the bikes first take obviously them telling it to soul it's so green screen and he's really yeah I think. And I go. My god the kid of this generation is still used to excellent special effects that anything less than perfection take tomorrow. Now he did get emotional NET you know when he spoiler alert you think he dies in the they'll come back thing in. So mostly and he does hold up I'm gonna say it doesn't because the only witness I had from acute from this generation. Was taken out of it because of its stated elements now. Did you tell him that advanced dementia where like I said I loved this movie that you need to see it's we knew I loved okay like my dad would say when he's to tell me like we got on nick I you know what the dirty dozen Nickelodeon low magnitude seven. Or like when my mom was like I gotta watch it's wonderful life for Citizen Kane are all letter old favorites you know. What I would I don't know if I really heard you say well. Just imagine what this was like at the time when and there wasn't a movie this magnificent or my dad would say like when you watch the wild bunch he would say like Nico. You know this is the first rated app movie because it's the first movie would what they considered at that time. Ultraviolet light so I did try to contextualize it for him impact you've got to imagine that this was good special effects and again he did get the emotional parts of it. And by the way the kid. What a performance by the young's home I'm a client essentially thomas' performance all up as well yes although remember what he was great in three years later one of my. All time childhood fairly Julia. Well collegial. Now the cloak and dagger a yes man than what I was Delhi called yep. A new Steven Spielberg dark managers can now and they have auditions from that kid anything there's crime and all of the AM really. All that's part of our dog on HBO you've got to see this milieu of all people out so the acting holds up big time. It's not that the performances are timeless. How much. Who speak for. And even ET himself. Does not come off well in terms of special effects he looks fake you know Max is mostly just kind of laugh when a robber a lot with a we're going not here not however. Was Max excited to go get recent pieces after he was definitely not. He did get the emotions here's what does hold out. Steven Spielberg's genius. There's a scene nick. Where the NASA guys the space guys in Peter coyotes character who's the guy and that in the hood. Witnessed you at universities based till the very last you know the third after the film you see his keys. Jiang going to unite derbies battered goody right he's chasing nearly he's got the keys on his hip. And his team waits for the family leave the house and then they invade the house and start their search. And you don't see anything they're doing inside you don't see an either equipment it's just a one shot nick. Of an extension cord wrapped up in a loop right and then all of a sudden they're searching searching you hear a noise you see the extension cord get. Pulpit. Top you'd think someone ran with whatever piece of equipment to go investigate and goes tot. And then it cuts out you go what a brilliant people don't shoot things like that more data need to show some big searched that they need to show scientific equipment they just showed a stupid extension cord. Get pulled taut and you're like on the edge of your seat that stuff is timeless. I don't I don't really think. I don't think I'm going on alleged when I say Spielberg's the greatest director vault the greatest movies now look at other people were master craftsman. At assembling an incredible. The via the halt the construction of the image like with Hitchcock and suspense. And yet Orson Welles was revolutionary obviously like probably the first incredible great director may use Capra. But there's nobody was a better movie director because these sectors such a trademark such as signature all the movies have great music yeah. Amazing performances he's got his true. Think about like. If you just rattle off like your five favorite Spielberg movies here are your all of a sudden impact on my god doesn't like five of my ten favorite movies and I am right raiders of the lost shark in jaws are. Probably. Firmly entrenched in everyone's top ten list and somebody's got jobs elements this movie and of course those things so holdup but. If I may be so bold as to. Break my own rules I'm gonna say. I wanna give it a 5050. It held up from my opinion but for the youth of today I have he's the one person sample size I have I have to say it doesn't hold up because the twelve year old is a very emotional kid by the way right not a cynic Max is not a cynic he you'll cry commercialism. He he he he was taken out of this because the special effects of the the you know the lack of he should he's more practical effects which doctors and advocates somehow strings or something. But so I gonna say cut it doesn't hold up let me actually say this then the water surprisingly of all the Spielberg movies the one that holds up I think the best. That is also very special and visual effects heavy it's not Johns because obviously that was a giant Roche are the world's biggest okwu puppet with a team. And obviously you're saying that the special effects and visual effects in the movie. Affected max's ability to be able to emotionally immersed in it fully yes Jurassic Park. Still to this day pulls up. The combination between CG I would you know you're looking at a giant computer generated dinosaur right and when like the foot lands. Yet out there by accident truck and that's a giant fake foot right they've built. Back combination first of the effects are still incredible array and the combination between actual. Affects and then this the visual effects in holds up. Amazingly maybe that's that maybe that's the line in the sand movie where we finally crossed over into good special and practical effects for them and they married together and it worked for the. And I hate it should stay in the ninety's because like everything and accurate looks great to know everything every print transformers movie. It's just like there's clobbered there's just doing now and then there's just employees and computer. The new trailer popular excited about you showed me about that when all the small avenger infinity war yeah they'll get together the bad guy looks like. And cartoon drawing everything in that looks so good except for the fact looks like a Jack and took and he ran out of I and that sucks when that happens. They don't Steven Spielberg movie in the documentary I really wanna see he in this like about a killer truck. As I can guy lol that's his first it's a paper Seattle in 1973. And he did such a good job on that that they gave them. Jaws you know or maybe you know I think he did. Is Spielberg or was it Lucas who did mr. Lan express and then knows. Spielberg and talked about then dock how they all hung together Spilborghs scores CAD US times USC there there are homeless Alia boys. And I would like to conclude this Cogent and intelligent impassioned. Conversation. With the WA AF tech's linemen similar seventh who sources say guys and send anyone check out the ET porn now. Thank you.
