I'm ready to grown men be gauging childlike excitement over things that don't really exist. Here is Keith news on many admit. So you know we love documentaries. And there's a new documentary called doomed. The untold story of Roger Korman the fantastic four it's available. Many places today that's available as of now on Hulu. And the web site is doomed the movie dot com is a little bit of the trailer. From a computer that does work on their mind tells not ready but what it's almost any credit just that we work in a careful. Fabulous radio environment. I went off Wednesday. I. The movie about. A guy named Roger Korman who was a famous director might you don't have to I guarantee you don't have to explain larger arms of the ball everybody's okay no doubt that let's walk him through Roger Robert Gorman directed movies produced TV variety for a fund hundreds of films. He was tasked with making. A version of the fantastic four he made it. And it was so bad legend has it. Was it this studio would not release it so it became kind of its own legend and people were to video stores things like that that boom then I've got a copy of the fantastic four Roger Korman unreleased fantastic four. And everyone in wanna see it well they have mated documentary about this film and guess what. Geeknews exclusive we have the director. Of doom to the untold story of Roger Korman it's fantastic for Marty Lankford on. The Framingham Ford studio line Marty how are you welcome to Matty and act. How are you know her very rare. Marty I'm super excited to dart team because a big. Eat culture and comic book reader comic book adaptation I mean every other movie that comes out these days. Is about superheroes but I also love. Documentaries. Abouts. Failed geek projects failed superhero stuff. The death of Superman lives what happened is a great documentary. Electric boo about the crazy stuff with cannon films. Is fantastic so I'm super excited to find out exactly what happened would this. Mystical mythical fantastic four movie years ago considering that they're being too adaptations in recent year. Wolf three actually put your right at first what a sequel than the reboot that's yeah Matt Matty I have to take umbrage well I'll just said. Now that the reason it was a release was because it was so bad. Well I thought that was the legend that people would say. But you said that you set the table you tell us what really happened. Yes so that is I mean unfortunately and it's one of the reasons I kind of made the documentary we would because that was the perception that it was just soul awful. That it would release double. And in an effort at hurt the careers of of the filmmakers recorded produced in only the stone was the director. And European bunch of actors who who were in this things some of whom were you know middle in the from a tour of the lower here and some of whom were you know pretty well known Al apartheid whites are bound Alex Robert Cole son Joseph. Were the two stars. Are. Yes exactly. But no it had nothing to do the quality and so absolutely some. What happened was it was in 92 Enders his German producer went right so the fantastic four with paid like nothing for them. And the option that he had the rights that he had to make the movie were running out and it was August. In if you didn't make the move here start making a movie by December 31 at 11:59 PM. Of 1992 he was gonna lose the rights. And you know that man had just come out in superhero movies you know which are starting to you know ramp up so they saw the value. So they just figured. They were trying to particular view with twentieth century fox and Chris Columbus and John Hughes and forty million dollar budget but they just couldn't get together. So they went to yet corn in the schlock Meister right there in the can you make this for a million dollars slate and start shooting by December 31 and easily share that. And they did and they you know started on December 28 and shot the three weeks and they made the move. But that kind of dirty little. Secret that the Germans but an awkward you know that have words the aren't really sure they were gonna release this thing they just wanted. To maintain the option so that they could keep making fantastic four movies. And did they really didn't give a crap you know pompous little movie but they just technicality but easily everybody. Went into it thinking this was their shot you know this was going to be. There a chance to you know get the big time. So Marty did you say that this movie. Which in all honesty from what having what some are doomed earlier looks it's super cheap like it was made on something between a Roger Korman. And a trauma film's budget. Yeah yeah and you know maybe that's what would be watch doubly bad about it like maybe not in a bird Dem nick or the room sort of way but like. You know it it it would it would be laughable he batted an enjoyable and guilty pleasure sense but you're telling me they made this movie. For three weeks and a million dollars a superhero movie when now they're made for 200 million dollars and a million dollars in three weeks is often spent on like a 32 effects shot. But. First I want. I'm. I can't believe that you're referencing bird advocate. That coolest thing ever since the greatest movies ever meeting room this. This is a hit show yeah I can I'm waiting for the trailer for the disaster artists that yeah James Franco will be asked about the room yeah. Yeah I mean it when I say it what it is wanna say it wasn't bad I mean. I guess I have to give a bit of practice by saying it's not great I mean it's what you expect for a million dollars which is very few stretchy effects very few blame us back. And let's be honest to also about the other two fantastic four movies Tim story's fantastic for 2004. And Josh francs in 2015. We're both pretty bad one camp beer and one just my god what happened and why did nobody say no to anybody along the way and that would be Josh tracks bad. Yeah no I mean they tried to I mean just strengths really trying to do something. Different I mean they saw this prop you up they had a property that. A straightforward application you know that he tried to the first two movies just wasn't working so they thought no let's just say this thing. Turn it on its ear and really get revisionist with that and boy oh boy yeah that was. That was. That was the failure on every level. Mormons I mean it has harder you know and it's not an excuse it has charm and it has the loyalty to the original comic book and it's got. You know cool thing costume of the best looking doctor doom. That has been on film. And it's not without its charms it's it's there's have been you know it's it's a quick breezy ninety minutes.
