U2 & Pearl Jam Pay Tribute To Anthony Bourdain

June 13, 2018

With the world still reeling from the effects resulting from celebrity chef/tv host Anthony Bourdain's suicide, U2 took a moment during their concert at the Apollo Theater to dedicate their song "Stuck In A Moment You Can't Get Out Of" in his memory.

"It's hard though, to lose a friend," Bono said to the crowd. "This band has been through that... lost some great people who gave up on their own life and that makes it kind of harder." Bono later went on to describe Bourdain as "A great storyteller, who had stories he couldn't tell us."

While touring through Amsterdam, Pearl Jam also gave a fitting tribute to Bourdain, as well as to David and Andy Spade (brother-in-law and husband to late designer Kate Spade) with their song "Long Road." First speaking in Dutch, and then in English, "We dedicate this to Anthony, my friend David, his brother Andrew. They are deep in our hearts tonight and we thank you," says Eddie Vedder.
