That Time When Guns N' Roses Shared The Screen With Clint Eastwood & Jim Carrey

April 4, 2017

Actor/Director Clint Eastwood has put out some of the greatest films in Hollywood history: Unforgiven, Gran Torino, Million Dollar Baby, Dirty Harry.

Sadly, the final Dirty Harry film "The Dead Pool" isn't one of them. Eastwood's character Harry Callahan in the films was a tall, no-nonsense cop who wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty in order to deliver justice to the streets of San Francisco. It's only a shame that appearances by Liam NeesonJim Carrey and a cameo by Guns N' Roses couldn't do the film justice.

But that shouldn't suggest that there aren't any memorable moments. Slash got to fire a giant harpoon in the film! In an interview, Slash described his first interaction with Clint Eastwood, "[Eastwood] came up to us on the set, and the guy's like 9 feet tall." He added, "Yeah, he's very intimidating. He walked up to us and said, 'Great album,' shook our hands and walked off. I didn't really know what to think of it, so I don't know what his trip is."
