Stevie Nicks And The Pretenders Announce 2016 Tour Dates

September 7, 2016

Grab your shawls and get ready to rock! In support of her solo album 24 Karat Gold - Songs From the VaultStevie Nicks will be going out on a North American tour and she's bringing The Pretenders with her. 24 Karat Gold is a collection of re-recorded songs that went unreleased so late as 1969.

"I just woke up one morning and said, 'I have two years off before Fleetwood Mac comes knocking on my door. Why would I want to sit around and do nothing?'" Nicks told The New York Times.

Similarly, Pretenders frontwoman Chrissie Hyde released a solo album of her own, Stockholm in 2014.

Starting on October 25th, this will be Nicks' first time out on the road as a solo artist since Fleetwood Mac wrapped up their latest tour in November 2015. Her last tour as a solo artist was back in 2011 when she went out on tour in support of her previous solo album, In Your Dreams.

"Fleetwood Mac is a team," Nicks told The New York Times. "When you're on a team everybody has the same vote - except in this particular team Lindsey [Buckingham] has a little bit of a stronger vote than anybody else. I love being part of a team. We argue all the time, but we always have. In my band, there is no arguing. I am the boss. My solo career is probably the reason Fleetwood Mac is still tougher in 2016, because I was always happy to leave Fleetwood Mac, and I was always happy to come back too."

Tickets go out on sale Monday, September 12th.
