RONNIE MONTROSE REMEMBERED: Event producer Keith St. John talks with Shawn SixX of the SIXX STRINGS Podcast

January 15, 2020

The late Ronnie Montrose was truly a rock-n-roll legend.  He inspired many of the musicians that we now consider icons.  His level of skill and artistry is widely considered one of the most influential in the industry.  Well, this Friday his memory will be honored by many of those very rock stars he inspired.

RONNIE MONTROSE REMEMBERED is a celebratory concert paying homage to the iconic American rock guitarist Ronnie Montrose, and the music he was a part of.  An all-star packed line-up will be on hand to highlight some of Montrose’s greatest hits from his time with Montrose, Edgar Winter, Van Morrison, and Gamma.  Some of the notable performers so far include: Brad Gillis of Night Ranger, George Lynch of Dokken/Lynch Mob, Carmine Appice of Vanilla Fudge/Rod Stewart/Ozzy Osbourne, Jack Russell of Great White, Dave Rude of Tesla, Derek St Holmes of Ted Nugent, Keith St John of Montrose/Kingdom Come, Dave Amato of REO Speedwagon;  James Kottak of the Scorpions/Kingdom Come, Phil Demmel of Slayer/Machine Head, Andrew Freeman of Last In Line, and many more.  The event will also be hosted by That Metal Show’s Eddie Trunk.  There will also be surprise cameos, speakers, never before seen video clips, and other raw footage showcasing Montrose’s career.  To say that this will be one of the most anticipated events of NAMM 2020, would be a huge understatement!

I recently had the chance to speak with former Montrose singer and event producer KEITH ST.JOHN about all things RONNIE MONTROSE REMEMBERED.  Take a listen to our chat about Montrose’s impact on Van Halen, the finesse of Ronnie’s playing and how it influenced heavy metal artists of the 80’s, and why people should attend this amazing event!
