Scott Weiland On Possibly Returning to Stone Temple Pilots

July 22, 2015

In a recent interview where former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland was asked if he stays in touch with his former bandmates and if there's a chance of him returning to the band again, he said "You never know about the future, but I don't have any... I'm not in touch with them now."

When asked about Linkin Park lead singer Chester Bennington as the new frontman for STP "Yeah, it's strange. It's definitely strange. I know Chester. I've known him for a long time, and he was a big fan of mine. I remember when we played... toured together, he told me that I was one of his biggest influences."

Weiland has no ill will towards Bennington for taking over his old position as the lead singer of STP, but he does describe finding out about it as "kind of out of the blue."

STP dismissed Weiland back in 2013 due to his erratic behavior at the time, claiming that it was holding the band back.
