Red Hot Chili Peppers' $1,000 Concert

September 16, 2015

The Red Hot Chili Peppers haven't performed at the Belly Up Tavern in San Diego, CA in almost 20 years. But they've decided that they will revisit the venue on September 27th, marking it as the Chili Peppers' first live show for 2015. Tickets to see the show however cost $1,000.

For a little more insight into the big price tag, the concert is actually a fundraiser for the non-profit San Diego Foundation, which is aiming to raise up to $600,000 to help with their youth performing arts education curriculum. Although the tickets cost $1,000, they also come with a $750 tax deductible. Other beneficiaries from the concert include: ARTS - A Reason To Survive, Heartbeat Music Academy, San Diego You Artists Music Academy, and the Silverlake Conservatory of Music.

An excerpt from the show's page reads: "We are thrilled to join forces with the Red Hot Chili Peppers to raise money for you performing arts education and provide our guests with a concert experience of a lifetime," said the San Diego Foundation's CEO and President Kathlyn Mead. "This is a rare opportunity for San Deigns to enjoy an intimate evening of music with a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band and feel good about giving back to their community."
