Prophets Of Rage Move Forward With Zack De La Rocha's Blessing

May 31, 2016

The Prophets of Rage may be a cornucopia of musicians from Rage Against The MachinePublic Enemy, and Cypress Hill, but whatever you do, don't call them a supergroup. "We are not a supergroup," says guitarist Tom Morello. "We're an elite task force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election year bulls**t, and confront it head-on with Marshall stacks blazing."

What initially started out as a rumored reunion of Rage Against The Machine, a cryptic poster revealed that it was indeed the announcement of the Prophets of Rage, which consists of all members of RATM minus frontman Zack De La RochaChuck D of Public Enemy, and B-Real of Cypress Hill.

Although all members of Rage Against The Machine have not played together at once since their brief reformation since 2011, Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk say that they aren't looking to fill Zack's place with someone else. "I spoke to Zack and got his blessing, and that's really great," said Commerford. "You're never going to replace Zack, and we aren't trying to do that."
