A New Collaboration Between Tony Iommi & Brian May Could Actually Happen

June 27, 2017

There has been a long-standing rumor over the last few years that guitar gods Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath and Brian May of Queen would team up together for a collaboration project of some sort. After speaking with EON Music, Iommi affirms his desire to work with May again in the future, but will have to wait as May is currently out on tour with Queen featuring Adam Lambert.

The guitarists had previously collaborated before on Iommi's solo album in 2000 titled Iommi, where May can be heard on guitar on tracks like "Goodbye Lament" and "Flame On." Also featured on the album includes Dave Grohl of the Foo FightersHenry Rollins of Black FlagBilly IdolOzzy Osbourne, and Matt Cameron of Soundgarden/Pearl Jam.

We could call this collaboration "Black Queen," though it appears that the name already belongs to another band.
