January 14, 2020

Neil Peart was a music legend and an influence for countless musicians -- one them being Godsmack's Sully Erna.

"Growing up I will say that he was probably the single most influential musician in my life -- [Peart> and John Bonham and Shannon Larkin that's my big 3" he said in an interview with RADIO.COM's Mistress Carrie of WAAF. "When I got the call man it was like a big part of my life ended there too because you know he was a tremendous influence -- I can't even articulate how much this guy meant to me."

Last year, it was revealed that Erna has been wokring on a documentary that will chronicle his rise through the music business. This doc will take a singular focus on Erna since Godsmack's story has yet to completed.

Biopics are hugely popular right now -- for example Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody and Motley Crue's The Dirt. Music fans love these pieces of work, so this is definitely something to look forward to.

Although Erna offered no additionaly details he did reveal that Neil Peart actually filmed an interview for this project. "I think we may have one of the last on camera interviews with Neil recently when he agreed to do an interview for the director of this feature documentary we're doing on my life story."
