Metallica's James Hetfield Goes Shirtless In Celebration Of Iggy Pop's 70th Birthday

April 23, 2017

Even at the age of 70 years old, punk rock icon Iggy Pop lives like there is no tomorrow. That, and there is no age where you should be ashamed to take off your shirt. Which is why, in celebration of this milestone, James Hetfield recorded a short video message wishing Iggy a happy birthday, and of course, going shirtless himself!

“Hey, Iggy. Happy 70th birthday. You don’t look a day over 30,” Hetfield says in the video. “I’ve enjoyed immensely getting to know you over this year and have nothing but respect and love for you and what you’ve done for rebellious music. And I just wanna say that you’re not only a survivor but a huge inspiration for me as I battle on into older age and enjoy every moment of it. So I think everyone there, in honor of Iggy and his 70th, should take their shirts off. Yeah! Have the faith! Keep the faith, brother! Take your shirt off.”

Earlier in 2017 Iggy Pop joined up with Metallica in Mexico City for a live performance of "T.V. Eye"
