Plymouth Golf Brawl Ends With A Man's Finger Getting Bit Off

August 20, 2018

Golf is supposed to be a relaxing game, right?

Well, tell that to the guys at the Southers Marsh Golf Club in Plymouth. Apparently there were two foursomes at the 18th hole (so close to being finished) and somebody said or did something, igniting an altercation so bad that 46-year-old Derek Harkins bit off the finger of a 57-year-old Marshfield man.

Apparently the finger was bit off to the knuckle, meaning that by the time he got to the hospital, doctors would not be able to surgically re-attach it to his hand.

Harkins will be charged with assault and battery, mayhem and disturbing the peace.

This just means that you're more likely to be bit by a fellow human than by shark. Guess we'll have to start hanging out in shark-infested waters, you know, where it's safe.
