Nearly 100 Papa Gino's & D'Angelo Sandwich Shops Close Throughout New England

November 5, 2018

It was a huge surprise to New Englanders everywhere after it was announced that 95 Papa Gino's and D'Angelo Sandwich shops have closed down.

PGHC holding, the parent company of both restaurants, announced that it has aggreed to sell the company to Wynnchurch Capital after filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

According to a statement released by Papa Gino's, the remaining restaurants will be receiving major upgrades to improve customers' experience. "As New England's local pizzeria since 1961, we are still standing strong and will be relaunching our restaurants, introducing improvements for the benefit of all of our guests. In the meantime, you can still order online and visit to find your nearest location."

Papa Gino's later says in their statement, "All the steps we are taking have one goal: to make Papa Gino’s restaurants even better for the communities we serve now and for years to come. We are excited about the plan to modernize our restaurants while staying true to what our guests have most come to love about Papa Gino’s. To all our guests, we thank you again for your concern. The Papa Gino's team is hard at work and we appreciate all the support!"
