Kid Rock Responds To Group Complaining About His Senate Run: 'Go F*** Yourselves"

September 5, 2017

With the possibility of there being a "Senator Kid Rock" in the future, there are some people that are less than thrilled about the rocker's unofficial senate run.

Common Cause, a watchdog group, has filed a letter of complaint with the Federal Election Commission and Department of Justice against Kid Rock's future bid for senate. One of the reasons is the belief that Kid Rock has failed to officially register as a candidate, despite his announcement. "There is reason to believe that Robert james Ritchie (a.k.a. "Kid Rock") is a "candidate" under FECA and has violated the candidate registration, reporting and recordkeeping requirements of FECA."

Another complaint from Common Cause comes from Rock's website, which is selling "Kid Rock For Senate" merchandise. "There is reason to believe that Robert james Ritchie (a.k.a. "Kid Rock") is a "candidate" under FECA and has violated the contribution limits and restriction and "soft money" prohibitions of FECA."

Kid Rock has since responded to the allegations in a brief blog post on his website, which reads, "I am starting to see reports from the misinformed press and the fake news on how I am in violation of breaking campaign law. #1 I have still not officially announced my candidacy.#2 See #1 and go f*** yourselves."
