After tonights game against the Minnesota Wild, only one regular season game stands between the Boston Bruins and playoff hockey! Now that the Bruins have clinched a playoff spot, as well as home ice advantage for the first round against the Toronto Maple Leafs, we can all relax and look forward to the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs!

During these next few games you can expect certain players to be out of the line up, or missing practices, to rest up for what is sure to be a challenging first round against the Maple Leafs. The big question everyone keeps asking is: Which team will be able to beat the Tampa Bay Lighting, who have had a historic year in points. Many fans have been asking me whether or not I think the Bruins will be able to get past Tampa in the second round. My answer to them is.. Yes! But… that’s ONLY if we can get by the Leafs, and that will not be an easy task! Throughout the past few playoff series against Toronto, the Bruins were clearly the better team, with more talent, and experience. This time around, all that young talent Toronto had is now more experienced, and looking for revenge for the past two Game 7 losses in Boston. Hopefully I’m wrong, and I look like an idiot for writing this, but I don’t expect this to be an easy series AT ALL!

My co-host on the Breaking The Ice Podcast, Andrew Raycroft, was the number one goalie for both the Boston Bruins and the Toronto Maple Leafs. He has experienced playoffs in both cities as a player, and now as an analyst. I look forward to pressuring him into choosing a favorite and picking his brain during the series.

On the podcast this week we talked about Boston sports during Spring, the Bruins chances in the playoffs, and why I shouldn’t drunk text Raycroft while he’s covering the game live on NESN!
