Josh Dolan & Jason Rossi: NHL Trade Deadline

Josh Dolan and Jason Rossi talk about the Boston Bruins and NHL trade deadline.

February 24, 2019

Today I was lucky enough to be asked to enter "The Church of Rossi"! I went on the air with Jason Rossi to talk about the NHL trade deadline, Kevin Hayes, and the trade that sent Ryan Donato to the Wild in exchange for Charlie Coyle.

I seem to be one of the few that is happy with this trade. People are approaching this argument all wrong, they are comparing the player Charlie Coyle is RIGHT NOW to the player they "think" Ryan Donato will be in a few years. I like the trade because I understand what Don Sweeney is doing. He's getting a player that will become more of a constant on the roster this season, and help this team make a deep playoff push. I don't know how long Chara, Krejci, Bergeron, or Rask are going to be around... but it's probably not for much longer! So wouldn't it be smart to add to the roster now and take advantage of the Bruins core being healthy and not retired?

Ryan Donato will be, and already is, an amazing player. Sometimes you need to spend money to make money, and in the short term, I like this deal.

A big issue for the Bruins though is they need to find out who made the great PR move to tell the truth about what happened to David Pastrnak! If Pasta was leaving an event late at night and then fell down and broke his thumb.. for the love of God, make something up!

Rossi and I also talked a little bit about who else the Bruins should get, and how I think die-hard Celtics fans don't exist and how I think the Bruins just shouldn't use Bergeron in the shoot-out.
