Adam McQuaid Traded To New York Rangers

Adam McQuaid has been traded for former teammate Steven Kampfer

September 11, 2018

Adam McQuaid was traded today to the New York Rangers for former Bruins teammate Steven Kampfer. Adam McQuiad always seemed to have a season-ending injury around Christmas time every year, so we’ve had a lot of practice getting used to a Bruins team without McQuaid. But it still sucks to see him go.

I have faith in Don Sweeney. I’ve questioned some of his trades in the past only to be pleased with the outcome in the end. I don’t think this trade is a bad move. Donny knows what he is doing, but the fan in me hates to see Darth Quaider leave town. The state of New York just gained another great defenseman from the Bruins (Johnny Boychuck). I don’t feel the trade hurts the Bruins defense at all with the addition of John Moore on top of the young kids like Charlie McAvoy and Matt Grzelcyk, the Bruins will be fine on the back end. So it’s not a bad trade, It’s just a sentimental goodbye and I’m sure someone is over at the Garden already hard at work on a “Thank You” tribute video for Quaider next time the Rangers are in town.

Welcome back Steven Kampfer.. Goodbye and thank you Adam McQuaid.
