The Greatest Clowns In Rock N' Roll

October 4, 2016

It's a proven fact: clowns are scary.

Something intended to bring happiness and joy to children of all ages is now associated as being one of the most terrifying images imaginable. Whether it's the makeup, those mischievous smiles, or their twisted sense of humor, it's no surprise that clowns have found a home in the rock n' roll community. Below are four examples that will either dismantle or reinforce people's fear of clowns, and that's no joke!

The Clowns from The Offspring's "Coming For You" Video

Probably the one time where we can feel safe around so many clowns is when they are at each others' throats instead of ours.

"Clown" of Slipknot

Also known as Shawn Crahan, Clown is one of the percussionists and founding members of Slipknot who, despite their scary appearance, seems to always find something to smile about.

Insane Clown Posse

The rap/rock duo that you either love or loathe are probably the only known musical act that spawned a fanbase (known as "Jugglalos") that has also been classified as a hate group according to the Southern Poverty Law Center.

Dr. Rockso from Metalocalypse

He's creepy, he's obnoxious, and he loves cocaine. If you think you could stand 5 minutes in the same room as Dr. Rockzo, you're either a hero or not human.
