Dave Grohl Officially Declares Rami Jaffee The Sixth Member Of The Foo Fighters

June 5, 2017

When the Foo Fighters first began in 1995, it was just Dave Grohl by himself. Now, 22 years later, the Foo Fighters family has grown from a one-man band to a triumphant six-piece as keyboardist Rami Jaffee is on the record now as the official sixth member of the band.

Although Jaffee (pictured far left) has both performed and recorded with the Foo Fighters for the last 14 years, he hasn't been addressed as an official member of the band. But it wasn't until recently with the surprise release of the Foo's new song "Run," in which an elderly Jaffee is seen pictured with his bandmates in an official photo, where Jaffee has officially regarded as the Foo Fighters' sixth member.

In an interview with Zane Lowe's Beats 1 show, Grohl praises Jaffee's huge contributions to the band for the last 14 years, and even credits him for helping the Foo Fighters sound the way they do.

Prior before joining the Foo Fighters, Jaffee was a member of The Wallflowers from 1989 to 2005, and once more in 2012.
