Zakk Sabbath To Re-Record Black Sabbath's Entire Debut Album In 24 Hours

May 22, 2019

Zakk Wylde and Black Sabbath go together like peanut butter and jelly. He loves Black Sabbath so much that he formed his own cover band, Zakk Sabbath, just so he can tour playing his favorite songs by the band. Now Zakk will be taking his love for Black Sabbath even further by recording Black Sabbath's debut album in its entirety in 24 hours in honor of its 50th anniversary.

Not only will he cover Black Sabbath within 24 hours like the band did, he will also be recording it directly to two-inch tape, just like Black Sabbath did in 1969.

"Our aim is to faithfully rerecord the album in the spirit of the original recordings: live in a fully analog studio, direct to two inch tape, in a single 24 hour period," the band said on their social media. "A film crew will document the process, culminating in a single album and DVD release limited to just 500 copies and delivered to purchasers on February 13, 2020."

Titled as Vertigo, the album will be available on February 13th, 2020. Pre-orders are available on the band's website at
