Woodstock 50 Organizers Say The Festival Is Not Cancelled

April 29, 2019

Even though a statement was released by Dentsu Aegis Network saying that Woodstock 50 has been cancelled, the festival's organizers are saying that it is still happening.

The statement by Dentsu Aegis Network stated that Woodstock 50 will be cancelled because, "we don’t believe the production of the festival can be executed as an event worthy of the Woodstock Brand name while also ensuring the health and safety of the artists, partners and attendees."

However, the organizers of the festival released a statement of their own to the Poughkeepsie Journal, insisting that Woodstock 50 will go on as scheduled. "Woodstock 50 vehemently denies the festival's cancellation and legal remedy will (be) sought."

Woodstock 50 co-founder Michae Lang said in a Facebook post that the music festival will continue with or without Dentsu Aegis Network. "Although our financial partner is withdrawing , we will of course be continuing with the planning of the festival and intend to bring on new partners." He adds, "The bottom line is, there is going to be a Woodstock 50th Anniversary Festival, as there must be, and it’s going to be a blast !

If Woodstock 50 is indeed expected to continue, the three-day event is scheduled from August 16th to August 18th in Watkins Glen, NY.
