What If "Smells Like Teen Spirit" Were Sung In The Style Of Evanescence?

February 13, 2018

The concept of artists covering other artists' hit songs is not foreign to any band. But an artist covering a band covering another band? That's some real musical inception right there.

Youtuber Anthony Vincent of Ten Second Songs recently released a video of himself singing "Smells Like Teen Spirit" in the style of Evanescence after putting out a poll asking viewers who he should try to emulate while covering the Nirvana classic. After Evanescence retweeted the poll, fans overwhelmingly voted that Vincent try his absolute best to mimic Amy Lee's operatic voice in the video below.

"Since I'm a man of my word," Vincent says in the video, "here is 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' sung in the style of Evanescence, if Evanescence was fronted by a bearded, 30-year-old Italian man from New York trying his damnedest to sound like Amy Lee."
