June 11, 2018

While performing at the Northside Music Festival in Denmark, Queens Of The Stone Age took a moment during their set to pay tribute to lstr TV host, author, and celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain.

"And sometimes you lose somebody," Josh Homme says at the 45:55 mark in the video below. "And today we lost somebody so this song if for Tony." The band then enters their 2005 song "Long Slow Goodbye."

Bourdain and Homme were close friends for many years. Homme had appeared as a guest on No Reservations in 2011 and even wrote the intro song to Bourdain's Parts Unknown. Shortly after hearing the news of Bourdain's death, Homme wrote on the band's twitter page, "Dammit Tony. I’m so sorry. I’m so destroyed. I love you brother. I miss you too much already. My love & condolences to Ariane & Ottavia."
