Watch An Emotional Clip Of Lynyrd Skynyrd's Upcoming Documentary "If I Leave Here Tomorrow"

March 21, 2018

Lynyrd Skynyrd were one of the hottest bands to take the '70s by storm. But after a terrible plane crash claimed the lives of three of its members, their manager and two pilots, the surviving band members were shaken to the core. It wasn't until ten years after the crash where they decided to reform and tour once again with Ronnie Van Zant's brother, Johnny Van Zant, taking over as the band's lead vocalist.

After 30 years of touring around the world, Lynyrd Skynyrd will be venturing out on their farewell tour. But before they say goodbye, the band will be coming out with the documentary If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd, which debuted at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 13th. Directed by Stephen Kijak (We Are X, Jaco, Backstreet Boys: Show 'Em What You're Made Of) the documentary tells the story of the band's history, Ronnie Van Zant, what happened during the plane crash, coping with loss, and moving on for the next 30 years.
