Watch Mike Mangini's Epic Drum Solo on a Kit Made From Buckets

April 10, 2019

If you want to name one of the greatest drummers in all of rock, look no further than Dream Theater's Mike Mangini.

In 2005, Mike set the world record for "world's fastest drummer" with over strokes per second and a total of 1,203 strokes in 60 seconds. He's so good that he could literally turn anything into a drum set.

So we took him up on that challenge and recruited Sean Corcoran from Amson HVAC to construct a makeshift drum set built from construction buckets from Home Depot, a pasta collander, sheet metal, an aluminum trash lid, and a hollowed-out suitcase. It was then donated to the Cats n Jammers music school for kids.

Special thanks to Vater Percussion and Pearl Drums for their support, and of course Mike Mangini.
