Watch Former Guns N' Roses & Megadeth Members Jam with Boston's Boys and Girls Club

February 26, 2019

Normally when kids go on a field trip they go to places like a museum or a historical landmark. So it's not very often that some of the most talented musicians in all of rock decide to stop by for a jam session.

But for the kids of Boston's West End House Boys & Girls Club, they got a special visit by ex-Guns N' Roses guitarist Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal and Megadeth bassist David Ellefson for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. During the Q&A portion of their visit, one of the students asked if they ever received any pushback for pursuing a career in rock. "In a way, almost feeling like championing the underdog was part of that," says Bumblefoot. "You don't need what you don't have - all you need is your creativity and whatever you have around you is all you'll need and you can make anything work."

"They call it playing music. It's not working music," adds Ellefson.

Then for the remainder of the evening, kids then got to play alongside both rock legends like their own Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp.

The West End House serves over 1,700 youth aged  between 7 and 24 from all backgrounds to inspire and educate them to realize their full potential in every aspect of their lives.
