VOLBEAT Says Rock Music Is A Genre That Will Never Die

August 29, 2019

There was a period of time in which hip-hop and pop appeared to reign supreme in mainstream music and rock was tossed out of the limelight and into the shadows. But in more recent years, many bands have noticed that there has been an upswing of interest in rock music in album releases and ticket sales.

While backstage at the Xfinity Center for the 2019 Knotfest Roadshow, Mistress Carrie spoke with Michael Poulsen and Rob Caggiano and asked how they felt about rock's (supposed) revivial. "For me, rock and roll is rebellious," says Caggiano. "It comes from that spirit. The world is so screwed up that rock music is never gonna go away. It's impossible."

"That's a genre that will not die because it's so honest, straight from the heart," adds Poulsen. "Rock and roll music is the essense of music."
