Once again rock and metal gets ignored in favor pop for the Super Bowl halftime show and Dee Snider's not gonna take it anymore.

It was announced that pop/latin artists Shakira and Jennifer Lopez were confirmed to be the headliners of the halftime show at Super Bowl LIV, and the outspoken Twisted Sister vocalist took to social media for vent his frustration.

"WTF!? Shakira and JLO for this year's NFL halftime show!? Once again the great heavy music that rocks the stadiums week after week, game after game is completely ignored," writes Snider. "I guess we don't shake our ass enough!!"

Snider maintains that his point isn't a jab towards Shakira or Lopez, but over how the NFL has had a consistent run of booking pop artists for the Super Bowl halftime show when the stadiums frequently play rock and metal music throughout the games. "Your go-to songs at EVERY game are metal: 'Enter Sandman', 'Cum On Feel the Noise', 'Thunder', 'Crazy Train', 'We're Not Gonna Take It', 'We Are the Champions', 'Final Countdown', 'I Wanna Rock', 'We Will Rock You', 'Welcome to Jungle'. NONE of those bands have EVER played half-time show!

There have been a handful of rock artists making cameos during some of the more recent halftime show performances like Lenny Kravitz (2015), the Red Hot Chili Peppers (2014), and Slash (2011), but the last time any rock band headlined the halftime was The Who in 2010. According to Sportscasting.comthe NFL makes a list of potential halftime show artists based on their popularity, performance value, and genre. The cities hosting the Super Bowl have the final say in which artists will be the halftime show performers.
