Trent Reznor Wins Country Music Award For "Old Town Road"

Was do Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross have that Blake Shelton, Maren Morris and Garth Brooks don't? The CMA award for "Musical Event of the Year."

Although the CMAs are scheduled to air tonight (November 13th, 2019), the Reznor and Ross were declared the winners of the award prior to the ceremony thanks to their contribution to Lil Nas X's hit song "Old Town Road."

The song's intro features a sample from the Nine Inch Nails track "34 Ghosts IV", and Reznor shared a picture of himself and Ross in cowboy hats to his Instagram with the caption "New world, new times..."

Reznor admitted in a previous interview that he felt "flattered" after learning that Lil Nas X sampled his material for his song.
