In case you haven't noticed, we are super-stoked for the theatrical release of Bohemian Rhapsody on November 2nd. It will tell the story of Queen's humble beginnings and their rise to fame as one of the most iconic rock bands of all time. 

So to satiate our anticipation, WatchMojo assembled 10 facts about the film that you may, or may not have known!

9. The role of Freddie Mercury almost went to Sacha Baron Cohen

8. The film's production is made up of both the surviving members of Queen, and major Hollywood kingpins like actor Robert DeNiro, producer Graham King and Anthony McCarten, making it a big contender for awards season.

Aside from Rami Malek portraying Freddie Mercury, Gwilym Lee (The Tourist, EastEnders, Jamestown) will play Brian May, Ben Hardy (X-Men: Apocalypse, Only The Brave, EastEnders) will play Roger Taylor, and Joe Mazzello (Jurrasic Park, The Social Network, Undrafted) will play John Deacon. Lucy Boynton (Miss Potter, Sing Street) will also portray Mary Austin, Freddie Mercury's partner of many years.

6. The film's trailers faced backlash over how Mercury's sexuality was be portrayed, allegedly ignoring his gay/bisexual preferences.

5. Bohemian Rhapsody's climax will feature Queen's iconic LIVE AID performance.

4. Many of the vocals added to the film includes real recordings of Freddie Mercury, as well as songs sung by both Rami Malek and a soundalike.

3. Controversy surrounded director Bryan Singer due to frequent disappearances. It was rumored that he developed a negative dynamic while working with Rami Malek and the crew. Others state that he was experiencing health issues. He was let go with only two weeks of principal photography left.

2. Director Dexter Fletcher was left uncredited. Following the departure of Singer, Fletcher took on the film's final two weeks of production, though is left uncredited as a director of the film.
