Tommy Vext Says Dave Grohl is the Bill Murray of Rock and Roll

August 13, 2019

Bad Wolves frontman Tommy Vext is a self-admitted "music geek." Even though he has been on tour with bands like Korn and In This Moment, he is just as big a fan as the rest of us. So when he saw Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters running the BBQ at Dimebash, he was freaking out just like anyone else would.

While Vext was one of the artists asked to perform at the annual concert, he was surprised to see Grohl running a professional-grade BBQ rig and cooking up ribs for everyone in attendance. "Even the VIPs were like, 'IT'S DAVE GROOOOOHL!'" says Vext. "And he's like, 'Hey Tommy!' And I literally paused. I was like, 'Me?', and he was like, 'Yeah, Tommy Vext, right?', and I was like, '...uh-huh...'"

After Grohl handed him a plate of ribs, Vext turned to him and said, "You're the Bill Murray of rock and roll." In response, Grohl told Vext, "That is the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me."

Thank you so much @dimebagzhag It was such an incredible honor to be a part of DimeBash 2019. The vibes were so filled with love, respect and the way the community pays endless tribute to all that @dimebagdarrell & @vinniepaul3 shared with us through their music. Thank you to @josemangin & @monstermusic and of course @davegrohlrp for cooking such amazing BBQ -- #Pantera #Damageplan #Hellyeah #Foofighters #davegrohl #Dimebash #Badwolves
