Tom Morello Wants 'Atlas Underground' To Be The Hendrix of Today

July 27, 2018

Tom Morello is the kind of guy that doesn't sit still for very long. When he's not touring with the Prophets of Rage, he'll be touring with Bruce Springsteen. Or maybe he'll be working on another project like Atlas Underground, which boasts a huge guest list of artists from musical genres like rock, hip-hop and EDM.

During his appearance on It's Electric! hosted by Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Morello described the concept of Atlas Underground to be "the Hendrix of now." According to Morello, he built this project on three things that made up the foundation of Hendrix's music:

  1. Outstanding guitar playing
  2. Radio play for mass appeal
  3. The sounds of today's popular music genres

"It's been a labor of love and I'm glad it's finally come to fruition," says Morello.
