After being teaser-riffic on their social media, the Foo Fighters lived up to the hype for their set at Cal Jam '18 by holding an official Nirvana reunion with the surviving members of the band (Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, Pat Smear) for their encore featuring Joan Jett and Paul McCauley of Deer Tick.

The encore included a collection of six Nirvana songs like "Smells Like Teen Spirit", "Breed", "All Apologies", "Serve the Servants", "Scentless Apprentice" and "In Bloom" with Joan Jett and Paul McCauley sharing vocal duties.

Before entering "All Apologies", Novoselic and Grohl praised the crowd and asked them to cheer for their late friend and Nirvana frontman, Kurt Cobain.
