Steven Tyler's Grammy Viewing Party Raises $2.4 Million For Sex Abuse Victims

January 30, 2018

If something positive came out of both the rock world and the 2018 Grammy Awards, it's the amount of money Aerosmith's Steven Tyler managed to raise for Janie's Fund, a nonprofit organization started by Tyler to provide support and aid to young girls that have suffered at the hands of abuse and neglect.

Accoding to a post to Tyler's Facebook page, Janie's Fund was able to raise $2.4 million during a viewing party for the 2018 Grammy Awards. "When I started Steven Tyler's Janie's Fund... I felt like if we could save just one girl, it would all be worth it," Tyler wrote. "But that's not what last night's gala was about. We don't want to help just a few girls beat the odds... but to radically change the odds for all girls."

He later added, "There's an African proverb that says, 'If you want to go fast, go alone... If you want to go far, go together.' I cannot do this alone, I need each of you... we can do this together... there really is no other way."
