Slash Confirms Guns N' Roses Will Be Working On New Music

May 29, 2019

Before Guns N' Roses reunited, people were always asking Slash whether he, Axl Rose and Duff McKagan were planning on getting back together again. But now that the reunited back 2016, the next most frequently-asked question they get now is if they plan on coming out with new music. Following an interview on the podcast Talkin' Rock with Meltdown, Slash confirms that new GNR music is indeed on the way.

""The thing is, we haven't really done anything yet, and I don't like to say anything," Slash says. "You know how people used to promote s**t and lie through their teeth? So I just wanted to be honest about it, and so there was really no telling what we were gonna do at that point. But at this point, I do know that we are gonna do this run [of shows in the fall>, and we've already started working on stuff. So, there you go."

Slash also offered his take on his lookalike appearing in a scene from Mötley Crüe's Netflix biopic The Dirt. "I talked to Nikki [Sixx> and he told me that there was something in the movie before I had seen it. A tip-of-the-hat to me, or something." It turns out that the scene in question was when a young Nikki Sixx overdoses on heroin, and Slash is in the same room. "I was drunk. So I just passed out. And then my girlfriend woke me up and told me that Nikki had OD'd."

Slash goes on to say, "And then the paramedics came and they had to put me into the shower so I could get coherent enough to talk to them."
