Slash Announces His Signature EDS-1275 Doubleneck Guitar

September 12, 2019

Slash is one of a select few cultural figures whose name is synonymous with an instrument. Now the Guns N' Roses guitarist has announced his limited-edition 1966 EDS-1275 Doubleneck guitar by Gibson.

Slash first picked up the doubleneck in the 1990's during their Use Your Illusion tour because songs like "Knocking on Heaven's Door" required solos and intricate picking necessary to pull off live. That's when his guitar tech brought him a black 12-string doubleneck from a small music store in Indiana. The guitar has since been a staple of Slash's signature sound.

According to the guitar's description, the guitar is in short supply and is available for pre-order. "Gibson is proud to present this exacting replica of the original guitar, constructed and aged by the skilled craftspeople of the Custom Shop in Nashville, TN. Only 125 models will be sold worldwide, each hand-signed and numbered by Slash himself. Each will include a vintage replica hardshell case, a custom Slash concho guitar strap and a Certificate of Authenticity."
