Seven Tyler Debuts New Country Single, 'Red, White And You'

January 22, 2016

After releasing his first single, "Love Is You Name," Steven Tyler lets us come back for seconds for another taste of his upcoming country album. "Red, White & You" is the title of his second single which is described as an "American uptempo country anthem," that also makes a few Tom Petty references.

Tyler's country album has been in the works for almost a year, with Aerosmith's 2015 summer tour delaying things a bit. Right now there has been no official release date, though in September 2015 Tyler said that he was hopeful that it would be on the shelves by February 2016.

Even though Tyler is aware that his Aerosmith bandmates were less than thrilled to see him go off out on his own, they've been in some ways supportive of his decision. "He wanted to do this creative exercise of going and making an album, and I can't blame him for wanting to do it," said bassist Tom Hamilton. "Joe [Perry]'s done it before, I'd love to do it someday. Why be angry about it?" Brad Whitford meanwhile was hopeful that it was going to be a hit, but he was upset that with Aerosmith on hold until their South American tour in fall of 2016, they've got nothing to do.
