Rockers React To The Death Of Pantera's Vinnie Paul

June 23, 2018

The rock and metal communities have been devastated after hearing the sad news that Vinnie Paul, drummer and co-founder of Pantera, has passed away at the age of 54. A band rep confirmed the news on Pantera's Facebook page, though no details on the cause of death have been released.

Vinnie Paul formed the metal band Pantera with his brother "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott on guitar in 1981 where they wrote hit songs like "I'm Broken", "Cowboys From Hell", and "Walk", as well as four Grammy nominations, and nine albums to land on the Billboard 200 chart, including 1994's Beyond Driven which debuted at No. 1.

Since the news broke of Abbott's passing, there has been an enormous outpouring of love from fans, friends and collaborators that had the privilege of listening, seeing and meeting on of the nicest guys in all of metal.
