Ozzy Osbourne Hopes He Will Recover In Time Before 2020 Tour

August 21, 2019

In January 2019, Ozzy Osbourne suffered a fall in his home in the middle of the night that forced him to cancel the remainder of his tour dates to allow his body to heal and recover from neck surgery.

This came after a snowballing list of injuries and health issues Ozzy suffered during his No More Tours 2 tour. Before his fall, Ozzy required surgery to remove a potentially fatal staph infection in his right hand, he was admitted into the ICU after contracting the flu and pneumonia, and he burst a blood vessel in his eye after a very heavy cough.

But his fall had also undone some of the metal rods inserted into his body after his severe ATV accident in 2003.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, Ozzy says that his neck surgery has been the most difficult part of his recovery. Because when his near-fatal ATV accident left him with a broken collarbone, eight broken ribs, and his vertebra, his recovery came at a cost, which affected the way fluid was able to move through his spinal chord. Now he says that his fall made the nerve pain much worse, leading to him getting back and neck surgery.

As he participates in physical and occupational therapy to get his balance and coordination back, Osbourne feels that his progress is not moving at the kind of pace he is hoping for before he will have to embark on his rescheduled tour dates in 2020.

Ozzy says that despite his wishes, he spends a lot of time resting in bed watching television while his wife and daughters attend to him.

Meanwhile, Osbourne says that he has already recorded nine new song ideas may name his next album Recuperation as a joke. But he says he is most concerned with whether or not he will be able to perform again, let alone walk properly again.

But despite everything thrown at him, Ozzy says he is keeping himself optimistic that his body will be healed in time for him to go back on the road again.
