Kurt Cobain Has A Writing Credit For Lil Nas X's Song "Panini"

June 20, 2019

Just by sampling Nine Inch Nails and adding elements of country into a single song, hip-hop artist Lil Nas X became an international superstar with his song "Old Town Road", featuring an additional collaboration with Billy Ray Cyrus.

Now his latest single, "Panini" includes an unlikely co-writer... Nirvana's Kurt Cobain. This is in due to the fact that the chorus in "Panini" bears very strong resemblence to that of "In Bloom", which was released eight years before Lil Nas X was born. But he claims that it's entirely coincidental that both songs follow the exact same melody.

After he received permission from Frances Bean Cobain to use the melody in his song, he thanked her on Twitter, saying, "panini interpolates parts of nirvana’s “in bloom”. Special thank you to frances bean cobain for this!!"
