Vince Neil Ordered To Pay $170,000 To Lawyers In Assault Case

July 9, 2019

Motley Crue vocalist Vince Neil has reportedly been ordered to pay $170,000 in fees to the lawyers that represented him in a 2016 assault case with a female fan. Neil claimed that his lawyers greatly inflated their fees because of his celebrity status, but a judge ruled that he must pay up.

The woman, Kelly Guerrero, claimed Neil assaulted her outside the Aria Hotel in Las Vegas, NV by pulling her by the hair and dragging her to the ground after she asked him for an autograph. Actor Nicolas Cage, who was also near the scene, briefly tussled with Neil prior to the incident, although it was being reported that he and Cage were engaging in "horseplay."

According to The Blast, court documents show that Neil has been ordered by a Federal judge to pay $148,962.50 in unpaid legal fees and $21,207.06 in outstanding court costs, for a total of $170,169.56.

Following the assault on Guerrero, she was left with "severe injuries, including neck pain, lower back pain, a fractured tailbone, and a hip injury." On top of seeking over $150,000 in restitution, Guerrero also claimed that Neil appeared to have been intoxicated at the time of the incident. Neil denied her claims, accusing her of seeking publicity.
