Mike Myers Goes Deep In His History with Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody"

November 2, 2018

With Bohemian Rhapsody now in theaters everywhere, Queen fans and music fans alike have been waiting anxiously to see this film. But probably none have been more excited than comedian/actor Mike Myers.

Thanks to an iconic scene from the cult-film Wayne's World, Mike Myers is now forever associated with Queen's epic poem "Bohemian Rhapsody." A song he fought hard to have in the film, Myers was close to quitting Wayne's World altogether if it wasn't included. Fast-forward to 2018 to when he got word that the producers of the Bohemian Rhapsody biopic wanted to cast him in the film, everything came full-circle. "I got a call, 'Do you want to be in a movie called Bohemian Rhapsody? You play the EMI excecutive that turns to Queen and says 'You can't have 'Bohemian Rhapsody' on your album.' And I was like 'Yeah!'" says Myers. "They go, 'Do you want to read the script?' and I go, 'No, not really. I'm in!'"
