Metallica to Headline Five US Rock Festivals in 2020

Metallica fans were wondering what the mysterious countdown clock the band posted on was alluding to. Some believed it most likely had something to do with their second live symphonic film/album S&M2. But band announced that in 2020, they will be headlining five major US music festivals with two different sets at each.

The band announced in a statement on, "For the first time ever, Metallica will be headlining all five US rock festivals produced by Danny Wimmer Presents." The five specific festivals will be the Sonic Temple, Epicenter, Welcome to Rockville, Louder Than Life, and Aftershock.   "Two different nights and two different sets for a total of ten amazing headlining performances from the world's biggest band. With additional big-name artists still to be announced, choose your favorite festival or choose them all! This will be your only chance to see Metallica at a North American festival next year!"

Tickets for all five festivals go on sale today (October 10th) at 3pm EST for fan club members and previous customers of Danny Wimmer Presents events. Tickets for the general public will begin on Monday, October 14th at Noon EST. For ever ticket sold from now through November 19th, Danny Wimmer Presents will donate 25 cents to Metallica's All Within My Hands Foundation.
