Watch Korn Appear In The Inspiring Documentary "Mind Over Matter"

January 22, 2019

Mind Over Matter tells the story of Brandon Mendenhall, a huge rock fan determined to start his own band despite being born with cerebral palsy,

Because his condition affected his movement and coordination, Brandon's use of his left hand was limited. "My left hand used to be completely paralyzed," says Mendenhall. "When one finger would move, they all would move." But over the years he was able to develop his own technique rehabilitize his hand to play the guitar.

A huge inspiration behind Menhenhall's urge to live a full life came from the dreadlocked hard-rocking Grammy-winners, Korn. "Korn spoke to me. I felt like I wasn't alone." He mentions that he was motivated to keep up his guitar playing thanks to Korn guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer, who lost part of one of his fingers in an accident. "I have all five of my fingers. Why can't I play they guitar? After three years I was able to start moving one finger, and then two fingers."

"Him learning to do more than this what the doctor said in incredible," says guitarist Brian "Head" Welch.
