Maynard James Keenan Expects New Tool Album To Drop Summer 2019

February 8, 2019

Tool fans have been excited for any news of a new album for the last 13 years. The band has dropped a few hints here and there on when we can expect it to hit the shelves, but the date keeps getting pushed further and further back.

Now vocalist Maynard James Keenan has announced that while they do hope to release the new album "somewhere between Mid May and Mid July," they've still got a lot of work to do. Keenan says that Tool's status is "midway through mixing. Most likely be a few recalls. Then some arguing. Then Mastering, Artwork, Video, Special Packaging, etc."

This news comes on the heels after Keenan dismissed drummer Danny Carey allegedly leaked the release of their new album, estimating it to be sometime mid-April. Now that we've heard it straight from the man himself, perhaps this album update will be a little more accurate.
