Iconic Ronnie James Dio Items To Be Auctioned Off

If you've ever seriously wanted to own a piece of rock history, you just may have the chance in September 2018.

A wide array of clothing, personal items, artwork, instruments that once belonged to Ronnie James Dio will be up for auction on September 14th & 15th in New York City, administered by Julien's Auctions.

Noted as "Property From the Estate of Ronnie James Dio," many of the items up for sale originate from various points in the singer's life and career. From when he fronted Richie Blackmore's post-Deep Purple band, Rainbow, to when he took over for Ozzy Osbourne in Black Sabbath, to when he began his solo band Dio. Some of the items being auctioned off include moon-and-stars patchwork jeans (priced $2,000 to $4,000), an animatronic sphinx from his Last In Line tour (priced $2,000 to $4,000), and even the dragon's head from his Sacred Heart tour (priced $3,000 to $5,000).

One of the most expensive items includes an original painting by Barry Jackson that was used as the cover art for Dio's The Last in Line LP.
